Ben had his 12 months immunisations on 15th April. Two weeks late, but I'm assured no harm has been done. For the first time, Matt came with us to the GP and had the honour of holding Ben while he was injected. In the past Ben has had his needles in his legs, but now that he's walking, the done thing is to go for the upper body. So Matt held him while the nurse jabbed him in the left arm and the doctor on the right. Only problem was that Matt didn't realise that needles were coming from every direction and he started jiggling Ben after the left arm needle came out. Unfortunately the right arm was still jabbed. This led to some pretty ferocious crying and there was still one more needle to go!!! As usual, Ben recovered quickly and as you can see from the shot above he was soon smiling again. The reason I'm also pictured above with band aids on my arm is that the empathy Gods were smiling on me. They sent our very persistent staff health nurse to me the day after Ben had his injections. She informed that I was overdue for three shots and I needed a very good reason to escape. Thankfully Veronica was there to (literally) hold my hand as I broke into a cold sweat. I usually avoid jabs, but figured if Ben could do it so can I. So here we are, swapping stories about our ordeals.
